Day 1

Your luxury holiday begins as you board our Royal Class coach at your chosen pickup point. Sit back and relax as we journey north towards the Highlands, with a carefully selected stop along the way. On arrival in charming Pitlochry, there’ll be time to settle into our hotel before enjoying a delicious dinner this evening

Day 2

After breakfast, enjoy a free day to explore Pitlochry at your own pace. Perhaps take a gentle stroll along the River Tummel, browse the town’s lovely independent shops and cafés, or visit the famous Pitlochry Dam and Fish Ladder. You may also wish to discover Blair Castle and its beautiful gardens (subject to opening), or simply relax and soak up the Highland atmosphere. We’ll come together again this evening for dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

Following breakfast, we travel north through ever-changing Highland scenery, calling at the fascinating Highland Folk Museum. Step back in time as you explore historic buildings and exhibits that bring Highland life to life across the centuries. We continue on to Inverness, capital of the Highlands, where you’ll have time to settle in before dinner at our hotel.

Day 4

This morning after breakfast, we set off along the sensational east coast section of the North Coast 500 route, where sweeping sea views and dramatic landscapes provide a wonderful day of sightseeing. We make our way to Scrabster and board the ferry to Stromness, enjoying a scenic crossing to Orkney. On arrival, we continue to Kirkwall and check in to our hotel before dinner this evening.

Day 5

After breakfast, we enjoy a full day exploring Orkney with a knowledgeable local guide. Highlights include the remarkable Neolithic village of Skara Brae, a visit to Skaill House, and time to marvel at Orkney’s ancient stone circles including the Ring of Brodgar and the Stones of Stenness. After a fascinating day, we return to Kirkwall for dinner.

Day 6

Following breakfast, we set out once again with our local guide to discover more of Orkney’s wartime and island heritage. We visit the moving Italian Chapel and see the impressive Churchill Barriers, built to safeguard Scapa Flow during the Second World War. We return to the hotel later this afternoon, with dinner served this evening.

Day 7

An early start this morning as we bid farewell to Orkney and take the ferry back to the mainland. We then travel to the unforgettable Castle of Mey, the Queen Mother’s beloved Scottish retreat, set in a wonderfully dramatic coastal location. After our visit, we continue to Dornoch where we check in to our hotel and enjoy dinner this evening.

Day 8

After breakfast, we visit magnificent Dunrobin Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic stately homes, famed for its grand interiors and superb gardens. We return to Dornoch later today, with time to relax before dinner at the hotel.

Day 9

This morning after breakfast, we begin our journey south, enjoying more wonderful scenery as we follow memorable stretches of the North Coast 500. We include a visit to Branklyn Garden (National Trust), a delightful hillside garden known for its colourful planting and peaceful setting. We continue on to Dunfermline, where we check in to our hotel and enjoy dinner this evening.

Day 10

After breakfast, we begin our journey home to West Yorkshire. We’ll make a comfortable stop along the way, including a meal on our homeward journey – a fitting final touch to a memorable Scottish holiday.
