The Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow - or similar
Situated in central Carlow, The Hotel is ideally located for our overnight stays. All en-suite bedrooms have TV, telephone, complimentary Wi-Fi, and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift, restaurant, and bar.
4 nights in The River Island Hotel
The River Island Hotel offers a relaxing and comfortable haven for people exploring the rugged west coast in the heart of Castleisland, Co. Kerry. With many up-and-coming cafes, clothing boutiques and craft shops, the bustling streets of Castleisland await discovery with its prime, town centre location. There will be entertainment in the hotel each evening, including 1 traditional Irish Night.
We join our Guide for a full day tour on our coach of the Ring of Kerry. Varied and spectacular scenery awaits, from mountains, lakes, and peat bogs to magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean.
With our guide, we explore the Dingle Peninsula, made famous by the film Ryans Daughter, offering some of the wildest natural scenic beauty in Ireland. We head on along the edge of Tralee Bay, then follow a circular route along the most westerly tip of the peninsula. At Slea Head promontory, the Blasket Islands come into full view. We return to the fishing village of Dingle, where we enjoy one of the highlights of our tour a boat trip around Dingle Bay. We return to Castleisland via Annascaul, Inch (Inch beach is where the famous beach scenes from Ryans Daughter were filmed) and Castlemaine.
We make our way to Killarney this morning in time for our Jaunting Car Trip. Step back in time and experience Irelands most traditional mode of transport horse & carriage - to view Killarneys most loved beauty hotspots, whilst learning about the history, legend, and folklore of the area.
Our journey ends at Muckross House, Gardens & Traditional Farms where we have an included visit. This nineteenth century Victorian mansion is set against the stunning beauty of Killarney National Park. Step back into the past on Muckross Traditional Farms and visit a very different Ireland the Ireland of the 1930s and 1940s. Then, a trip to the well was still a daily chore for the housewife and electricity had yet to be introduced to the countryside.
After breakfast, we bid slan to Castleisland and make our way back to Carlow and on to the Seven Oaks Hotel (or similar) for our overnight stay.
We have an early departure this morning for Dublin where we catch the ferry to Holyhead and a full breakfast will be served on the ferry.
