· The Kelpies  -  a guided tour -  The Helix Park is The Home of The Kelpies - the largest equine sculptures in the world. The visitor centre at the Kelpies has a gift shop, café and more information on The Kelpies themselves. Our tour is with a guide who will tell us about the story of The Kelpies and even take us inside for an exclusive look at their engineering and ingenuity. Marvel at the sheer size and majestic presence of these iconic landmarks, standing as guardians of the land. Learn how Andy Scott's artistic vision captures the story of Scotland's history and industry, honouring the horses that played a crucial role in the country's industrial development and showcasing the beauty of combining STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and art.

 

 

 

 

· Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum - Guided Tour. Marvel at the varied selection of artefacts from around the world, including Egyptian mummies, armour and weapons, Asian and African artefacts, natural history specimens and so much more. We take a guided tour through some of the 22 galleries with the museum’s must-see objects. Journey back to the Art Nouveau era as you experience the Charles Rennie Mackintosh tearoom interior, witness the birth of modernism in Scottish paintings with works by the Glasgow Boys, see the French-influenced Scottish Colourists and marvel at the incredible collection of arms and armour. · The Hunterian Museum & Mackintosh‘s House is home to one of the most distinguished public art collections in Scotland and features displays of the work of/James McNeill Whistler, various works by the Glasgow Boys and Scottish Colourists, the largest single holding of the work of Scottish artists Margaret MacDonald and Charles Rennie Mackintosh, along with The Mackintosh House, the reassembled interiors from their Glasgow home./ A self guided tour.  Hunterian Museum

 

 

· The Burrell Collection -  Highlights Tour -  A staggering 9,000 objects form the collection. Highlights include one of the most significant holdings of Chinese art in the UK, medieval treasures including stained glass, arms and armour and over 200 tapestries which rank amongst the finest in the world, and paintings by renowned French artists including Manet, Cezanne and Degas. · Holmwood House (National Trust for Scotland) -  is masterfully designed but surprisingly cosy, with grand imagination behind it. Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson designed the house for paper magnate James Couper and Thomson’s penchant for Grecian styling and symmetry is found throughout Holmwood, where the bold opulent decoration echoes the colours seen in ancient Greek temples. · The House for an Art Lover  -  Set within the magnificent grounds of Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park and inspired by the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Depart from Saltaire, Menston & White Cross, stopping en route, we expect to arrive into the hotel in the late afternoon

Thursday

This morning we visit the Hunterian Museum and the Mackintosh House. We arrive at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in time to buy lunch and listen to the organ recital in the entrance hall. Later we take a guided tour of the museum's highlights.

In the morning we visit the House for an Art Lover and then The Burrell Collection for a highlights tour in the afternoon.

Saturday

We begin the day at the iconic Kelpies. Later we visit National Trust for Scotland's Holmwood, before our homeward journey. Enjoy high tea on the way. We expect to return around 20.00. hrs.
