Few places can rival the splendour of our beautiful Island, a hidden secret and true gem in the middle of the Irish Sea.
Dating back long before the last Ice Age, our magnificent Island has been shaped through time by pioneers, merchants and warriors who made the Isle of Man their home. Strking ancient monuments, archaeological sites and historic buildings are dotted throughout the landscape, making the Isle of Man a fabulous place to explore and enjoy.
- Started in 1895, the chain railway, which is the only electric mountain railway in the British Isles, took just seven months to complete. Running a total of four miles from the village of Laxey to the top or the islands highest mountain, Snaefell at 2,036 ft.
- Step back in time at a truly picturesque village with thatched Manx cottages open to explore and enjoy. See farm animals including Loghtan sheep, Shorthorn cows and working horses. Watch craft demonstrations and learn to say few words in Manx.
This feat of Victorian engineering is the largest surviving waterwheel of its kind in the world. Watch the mighty wheel turn* and climb the 95 steps to the top for panoramic views across Glen Moor Valley *subject to re-furbishment work
The former home of the Manx Parliament and centre of 19th Century political life on the Isle of Man. Animated portraits of Keys members and a simulated model of Mr Speaker bring the debating chamber to life. The Secretary of the House welcomes you to join in the debates on law setting in this participatory experience.
- Located in the ancient capital of the Isle of Man, Castletown, this impressive fortress was once home to the Kings and Lords of Mann. Built in 1200AD, its one of the best preserved medieval castles in the world.
- Step back in time for a journey you will never forget, experience the grandeur of travelling between Douglas and the south of the Island on a Victorian railway, perfectly frozen in time.
- famed for its sweeping promenade, the Gaiety Theatre, Villa Gardens and the worlds oldest horse drawn trams.
- A local guide will accompany us on our visits each day to enrich our experience of this fascinating island
