Theres a colliery, a pit village farm and a perfectly recreated town. If you dont want to walk hop on a vintage bus or tram. Remaking Beamish is the biggest development in Beamishs history including over 25 new exhibits and attractions and is bringing a new era with a 1950s Town and farm. Visit Front Street terrace and get your hair done, buy delicious fish and chips, sit in the booths in Johns Café whilst listening to the jukebox. Coronation Park features a putting green and traditional playground, and you can explore semi-detached houses, police houses and a bowling green and pavilion. Theres a 1950s cinema, toy shop and electrical shop, as well as the Georgian Drovers Tavern and pottery.

Itinerary
Friday We have a leisurely journey to South Shields, stopping en-route.
Saturday A morning visit to Tynemouth, which was listed in the Sunday Times Best Places to Live in 2018. Hardly surprising. Nestling alongside the River Tyne, this lovely town has got brilliant beaches, an ancient priory and castle as well as a fabulous covered market in the towns beautifully restored Victorian railway station. Enjoy an early dinner before heading to Bishop Auckland for the evening performance of amazing spectacular Kynren.
Sunday (15th August departure) Alnwick Gardens, a unique and unconventional garden in the heart of Alnwick. The spectacular gardens were created in 2001 and transform across the seasons. Youll also enjoy if thats the right word a guided tour of Alnwicks Poison Garden where youll get close but not too close to some of the worlds most dangerous plants.

We head to the north east, stopping en route and check into the lovely Little Haven Hotel
DDay 2
There is an optional visit to beautiful Tynemouth, where today, there is a market in the Metro station. We return to the hotel and have an early dinner before our journey to Bishop Auckand. Take our excellent seats for the amazing show.
B, DDay 3
We bid the Little Haven farewell and on 15th August departure, we head for Alnwick and take a tour of this famous garden, including the Poison garden. On the 29th August we spend the day in brilliant Beamish Museum. Later, on our homeward journey we stop for high tea
